Notes: Mainly for shadow towers, but can farm also. Strategy stated later in the guide should only be used for towers. (Lunar dosent really need any gem effects to be good at farming, he was ALREADY good at farming pre MOP.)

Empowered Gems

Passive abilities of the other 2 gems dont really matter, only thing that matters is having the class gem.

Shadow Lancer Class Gem

Basic attacks have a chance to spawn a dark shadow version of you that attacks enemies.

In Lunarform the chance is increased.

Pyrodisc

Killing an enemy has a chance to generate a flaming disc that damages nearby enemies.

This gem has a cooldown.

Stinging Curse

Dealing damage applies damage-over-time effects to enemies.

So... alot of people will tell you that the lunar lancers class gem is bad.

it is.

like... really bad.

 

Untill you add a chloromancer to the equation.

 

Lunar lancer is one of those classes that has had a crazy ride through trove history. upon release, and for most of pre-MOP era, he was one of the strongest classes available, and was really meta (comparable to shadow hunter or neon ninja today). After mantle of power, with class gems coming to shift balance, in the hopes of fixing some of the balance issues with the game, underused and underpowered classes like shadow hunter got absurdly strong gems to put them back into the game (yeah, pre MOP hunter was probably one of the worst classes around), some stronger classes got some... less than satisfying gems. (looking at you fae) anyways, the luanr lancers class gem is 100% useless while farming. it takes a long time to trigger it, takes multiple dungeons to trigger it, dies very fast, and deals subpar damage. but, the gem is absurdly useful in speedruns when you add a chloromancer into the group. the clones can be healed by the chloromancers 1 ability (polinator), which allows them to stay alive for much longer, long enough infact, to summon 6 more. But ahhhhhh, that must take a long time! the speedrun timer will be ticking! well, the speedrun timer dosent start untill the cursed skulls are activated, so, you can build your army BEFORE the event even starts by hitting a soccer/football to trigger lunacy. (Damn those balls make me ANGRY :P) while it does take some time to set up, once you get all 7 clones up, you can deal absurd damage with the clones alone, not counting the additional damage you can get with your abilities and 2 ultimates. wait what? 2 ultimates? how? simple. there is a bug (this works with candy barb too), where if you hold 2 to aim your ultimate, the cooldown for the next one will start. so if you can hold your 2 long enough, you can send down 2 spears at once. so... thats alot of stuff.  

TLDR: Speedrun timer wont start till you activate cursed skulls. Build clones by hitting a ball and having a chloro heal them, then hold your ultimate till the cooldown wears off and you can throw down 2 at once.
